The in New York City has added a shockingly expensive item to its gift shop - a $2,850 box of colored pencils.
The art kit, curated by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, is aimed at the new adult coloring craze. 
And already there's a waiting list for one of the over-the-top black lacquer boxes, with more stock expected to arrive later this month.

Among some of the items are colored and watercolor pencils, pastels, paint brusts, tranh sơn mài thủ công mỹ nghệ crayons, and tranh sơn mài mã đáo thành công various tools such as a pencil sharpener and sandpaper block. 
'Produced with exemplary craftsmanship, its wooden frame resembles a Chinese wedding cabinet: inside, drawers store the art supplies, sorted by color shades, all of which have been personally selected by Karl Lagerfeld and symbolize the synergy between fashion, art and design,' MoMA's description of the box reads. 
'The individual drawers are removable in order to set them up for creative work.

Every one-of-a-kind box has a serial number and certificate of authenticity, making each completely unique and unmistakable.'
Each box also has its own serial number plate and comes with a certificate of authenticity. 
Just 2,500 of these boxes have been created. 
'What amuses me while drawing is the fact to draw. To me drawing is like breathing and writing. These are things that almost relax me,'
