Forest Green have taken the unusual step of landing a former striker partner of Thierry Henry's.


The Buy Skrill Account - BuyPaxfulAccount.Com Conference outfit - who lie 15th in the fifth tier of English football - have moved to sign Luke Rodgers.


Formerly of New York Red Bulls, Rodgers is something of a journeyman domestically.

The ex-Port Vale hitman had already accumulated seven clubs before Monday's move to The New Lawn.


Rodgers played with Henry in the MLS for two seasons and built up something of a rapport with the Arsenal legend in his first.


The 32-year-old found the net ten times for the Red Bulls, Henry only notching twice.

Forest Green are desperate to reach the Football League, with manager Ady Pennock focused on recruiting experienced pros.


They have it all to do this season though.


Nine points is the gap between themselves and the play-off positions, although the club do have four games in hand on some rivals.
